What are fillers?
The appearance of wrinkles primarily means a decrease in the synthesis of hyaluronic acid. So our body is arranged with you that over time it ages and this is manifested by a deterioration in the condition of the skin, including the appearance of wrinkles. The good news is that scientists have long known about this problem and, even better, have long since come up with a solution - fillers. In this article, we will tell you what fillers are in cosmetology, how they will help get rid of wrinkles and how the procedure for their introduction is performed.
Fillers
Like many specific cosmetic terms, fillers have foreign roots. This is the essence of the drug: it replenishes the lost tissue volume. Fillers consist of practically the same hyaluronic acid, but in different consistencies to solve certain problems.
The point is this: while the human body is young, it constantly produces and breaks down hyaluronic acid, which is responsible for maintaining a full-fledged hydrobalance in skin cells. But after a certain age, the amount of synthesized hyaluronic acid decreases. As a result, the hydrobalance is disturbed, the skin becomes thinner and becomes dry. A healthy tone disappears, wrinkles appear. A filler injected into the problem area restores the natural level of hyaluronic acid. As a result, the hydrobalance is restored, wrinkles are smoothed out, the skin has a healthy color again.
Contour correction with fillers
There is no need to prepare for such a procedure. The main thing is to consult with a beautician in advance. What is it for:
- The specialist will examine the skin, ask the patient a few questions. This will help him choose a filler that will be optimal for a particular patient's case.
- The doctor will check the presence (or vice versa absence) of contraindications.
- The doctor brings the patient up to date: he will tell you about the filler, what it is and how it will help get rid of wrinkles. Also, the patient will be able to ask the doctor questions about the upcoming procedure.
It must be remembered that the procedure should be carried out only by a specialist with the appropriate higher education, since the filler must be injected using a special technique. Its violation is fraught with either an excessive increase in volume, or a short-term effect.
Indications for fillers
Fillers in cosmetology can be indicated for:
moisturizing and rejuvenating the skin;
elimination of wrinkles on the face and body;
correction of the nasolabial fold and nasolacrimal gland;
correction of cheekbones, face contour, size and shape of lips;
correction of the shape and volume of the labia;
restoration of elasticity and hydration in the intimate area.
The injection of fillers into the skin tissue is a one-time procedure, so the result will be visible almost immediately after the end of the contour plasty session.
Filler types
Different fillers are used on different parts of the body and to eliminate different imperfections. What makes them different from each other if they are all based on hyaluronic acid? They differ in consistency. So, the "softest" fillers are used, as a rule, in areas with thin skin and mild imperfections like mimic wrinkles. Medium-viscosity fillers work well for drooping mouth corners or lip reshaping. The most viscous preparations are intended for procedures such as increasing the volume of the cheekbones or correcting the face contour.
Which filler will be used for facial modeling is determined by the doctor, based on the area of injection, skin type, the presence of a particular problem.
